Responsibilities

  • The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Collaborate with diverse members, respecting individual identities, to secure inclusive community job placements
  • Provide equitable support tailored to each member’s unique abilities and employment aspirations
  • Develop positive work-related skills and habits tailored to individual employment needs
  • Conduct assessments to identify member strengths and capabilities
  • Develop and implement individualized training agreements in line with members’ goals
  • Maintain records with a focus on equitable service delivery and outcomes
  • Build employer relationships, advocating for inclusive hiring practices and diverse workplaces to create job matches aligning with members’ goals and strengths
  • Engage with community networks, including schools, agencies, and families
  • Deliver services that are culturally relevant, accessible, and respectful of all identities
  • Champion the rights and inclusion of members in the workforce, with a focus on creating accessible and equitable competitive integrated employment opportunities
  • Comprehensive training will be provided in disability awareness, employment strategies for individuals with disabilities, and work readiness skills
  • Pushing or pulling wheelchairs
  • Sit for extended periods
  • Performs other duties as required

Competencies:

  • Must possess good communication skills both orally and in written form.
  • Must have the ability to use a computer and other electronic equipment.
  • Must have a desire to manage a team of staff supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must possess self-motivation, initiative and independence to work without direct supervision.
  • Must be flexible, reliable and dependable.
  • Must be able to manage and embrace change, look for ways to improve your own performance and accept feedback.
  • Must be willing to accept challenges of a 24-hour support system.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize in order to meet deadlines.
  • Must be willing to perform duties that are assigned outside of this job description.

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum age of 18 years with a GED/high school diploma.
  • At least one year of paid experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Work Authorizations
  • Must obtain and maintain training and certification in all required areas such as Abuse/Neglect, CPR, First Aid, Level I Medication Administration, Prevention & Support.
  • All employees will complete 1-9 Employment Eligibility Verification.
  • Background check including fingerprinting
  • Reference check
  • Driver’s License and proof of insurance
